Five Tips for Taking Your Worship Band to the Next Level

Over the next few weeks I want to focus on a topic that is near and dear to my heart. The topic of worship band excellence. Being a long time worship leader at my church, I have spent a lot of time thinking of ways that the band as a whole can improve. I've also spent a good deal of time thinking about creative solutions to common problems that lead to wasted time and effort. As my first forray into the blogging world, I'm going to present five tips that can help move your worship band to the next level musically and in terms of efficiency. Why five tips and not six? I don't know, five seemed like a good number. For each of these tips, I'm speaking from my personal experience. These are things that have worked well for my worship team which is composed entirely of volunteers with varying degrees of musical proficiency. I realize that there are a lot of different worship team configurations out there so some of these tips might not be relevant to your church. I'm just hoping that one or two will be helpful. I don't claim to be an expert or anything close. I've just been in the "trenches" and would like to pass on what I have learned.
